The Mat-Su Monitor is the student newspaper of Mat-Su College, which is part of the University of Alaska system.

We publish campus news, events, students' creative work, and just about anything students and staff would like to share with the campus community. So, the Mat-Su Monitor invites all students and employees of the Mat-Su College to write on our webpage!

If you like writing, we can use you! If you hate writing, we won't ask you to do it too much, but would still like you to have a space to shar enews and events! Your skill level does not matter. After all, one reason for joining a club is to pick up a new skill! (Plus we have editors.)

How to get involved

Attend a meeting (Fall 2026 times to be determined) or email us at msc.monitor@alaska.edu.

Again, we welcome all students, staff, and faculty. This is a great club to get involved with because we are open, friendly, and supportive.

Submissions policy

Students are invited to submit articles and letters to the editor to msc.monitor@alaska.edu or by attending a meeting.

The Mat-Su Monitor will not accept anonymous submissions, though with prior arrangement articles of a sensitive nature can appear anonymously. All submissions are subject to editing and will only appear with the approval of the editor.
